RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley attended the Retail Forum chaired by Minister for Retail Neale Richmond and once again re-iterated that local shops are not overinflating prices for profit but are struggling with the very high cost of doing business. A new Report by the Competition & Consumer Protection Commission clearly shows that there is no “greedflation” or price gouging taking place, Buckley told the Forum. “The report does state that input costs are particularly high in Ireland and we urge the Government to address this – particularly in areas where it is Government policies or new regulations that are inflating costs,” Buckley said.
