RGDATA director general Tara Buckley attended the in person meeting of the Cost of Business Forum (18/02) to highlight the huge regulatory and licensing burden that independent food shops must deal with. Buckley told the Forum that local food shops had to deal with over 30 different licensing and regulatory regimes and faced between 10 and 20 different inspections annually. She called for the Forum to recommend an across the board cut in the red tape burden by 30%.
