Fund renewable energy and strategic costs centrally and let shops just pay for energy consumed: RGDATA

RGDATA has written to Enterprise Minister Peter Burke following warnings from state officials that energy bills are going to increase in 2025. “If Government is keen to tackle business costs and increase employment and investment in the economy, then it should stop charging shops “throughput charges” for renewables and strategic projects and just make them pay for the energy they consume. Bills should be based on actual energy unit consumption rather than ancillary levies and charges,” RGDATA stated.
