RGDATA says the new Government needs to devise mechanisms to compel insurers to drop shop insurance premiums following publication of a report which shows a dramatic fall in Public Liability claims in shops. “The new Government need to devise mechanisms to compel insurers to reduce premium levels commensurate with the falls in cases and award levels. Otherwise, the reforms to address high Insurance costs will only have delivered for the insurance industry and not for punters. We will have replaced the scourge of the compo culture with greedy fat cat insurers,” RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley commented.
