EU should investigate if Irish energy companies are “price gouging”: RGDATA to Cost of Business Forum

RGDATA has written to the Cost of Business Forum seeking an investigation by the EU into Ireland’s high energy costs if Ireland’s energy and competition regulators continue to stick with their non-interventionist policy. At an in-person meeting of the Forum, RGDATA raised the need for a full investigation into energy companies and energy prices by our domestic regulators - the CCPC and the CRU – but they said there was no need for an investigation. If they are unwilling then the Forum should seek the views of the EU Commission, RGDATA asserts.
