Delay introduction of “Enhanced Reporting” to Revenue of certain non-taxable expenses to allow shops time to prepare: RGDATA

RGDATA has written to Revenue highlighting the lack of consultation on new “enhanced reporting” from January 1 2024 by employers to Revenue of certain non-taxable expenses including vouchers; travel and subsistence and Working From Home allowance and calls for the phased introduction of the measure to allow local independent shops time to prepare.

RGDATA Director General Tara Buckley also attended a meeting with Revenue officials and members of ISME that highlighted how challenging reporting these payments “on or before” they are actually made to the employee will be for SME businesses.
