In January, the Defamation Bill completed the Report and Final Stages in Seanad Eireann and the final debate will take place tomorrow (11/02) in Dáil Eireann. Amendments to the Bill to stop a polite enquiry about proof of purchase being a cause for a defamation action were not accepted by Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan.
